Will2Walk Board of Directors


We invite you to meet our board. All of us share a common belief that people with spinal cord injuries can lead healthy, fulfilling lives.

Rich Hamill, Founder and President

“I know that we can empower those with SCIs to regain control of their lives and prepare for the cure through education and perseverance.” ~Rich Hamill

Rich Hamill was injured in an automobile accident at age 17. Throughout his journey of living with a spinal cord injury, Rich has been steadfast in his view that a positive attitude and healthy body are of utmost importance for people with spinal cord injuries.  Hamill founded Will2Walk in 2008 in order to make his dream of inspiring others with spinal cord injuries a reality.

Dennis J.Curran, JD, Vice President and Legal Advisor

“I’ve been involved with Will2Walk from the very beginning and believe in this organization’s mission and ability to improve the lives of people with spinal cord injuries. I am proud to serve this board with my expertise in legal issues.” ~Dan Curran

Dennis J. “Dan” Curran is a liability claims specialist for Western Heritage Insurance Company. Prior to his tenure at Western Heritage, Dan worked as a litigation attorney, assistant general counsel, and an associate attorney for several important Phoenix-area firms.

Dan received his JD credentials from the University of Notre Dame, where he also was a member of the Legal Aid and Defender Association and was published in the Notre Dame Law Review.

Dawn MacLean, Secretary

I have had the privilege of being close friends with Rich Hamill for many years, and his determination and selfless sense of purpose have always inspired and amazed me. I am dedicated to helping the Foundation fulfill its mission, and I know with Rich’s leadership, that goal is attainable.” ~Dawn MacLean

Dawn MacLean is a stay-at-home mother for her daughter, Kayla. From 2003 to 2011, she worked as a Communications Specialist for Scottsdale Insurance Company, where she provided communications consulting to leaders, wrote for both internal and external publications, and planned events.

A Chicago native, she earned a B.A. in Marketing from Lewis University, and previously worked as a Membership Manager for the American Dental Association. Dawn and her husband, Brad, enjoy traveling, exploring Arizona, and spending time with family.

Erin R. Finn

“The Will2Walk Foundation is dedicated to changing lives. I am glad to be able to bring my problem solving and interpersonal skills to this organization to help be this catalyst for change.” ~Erin R. Finn

With her background in home health care, physical therapy, rehabilitation, and social work, Erin Finn brings valuable expertise about the community and resources that are part of the daily lives of people with spinal cord injuries.

Erin received her Bachelor’s of Science in Social Work from Arizona State University. She also graduated magna cum laude with her MBA from the University of Phoenix.

Dawn Tilford

“I have experienced some devastating personal challenges in my life. With hard work and the love and support of others, I was able to overcome these challenges and achieve beyond what I thought was possible. I’m honored to be on the Will2Walk Board because I believe in the importance of ‘paying it forward’ by reaching out to others who are facing their own challenges and helping them achieve their potential.” ~Dawn Tilford

Dawn Tilford has a passion for people and making a positive difference. Dawn’s husband has a progressive motor-neuron disease; in her quest to learn to deal with the challenges of the disease’s progression, Dawn has gained a unique understanding and empathy for others facing physical challenges.

With her Master’s degree in counseling, Dawn brings an insightful understanding of the psychological impact of a life-changing injury to our board. Dawn also strengthens the Will2Walk organization with her leadership, analytic, and relationship-building skills from her professional role as a business consultant.
